Update on the Federal Funding Freeze — Lifelong

Update on the Federal Funding Freeze

WHAT’S HAPPENING
The Office of Management of Budget (OMB) issued a memo on January 27, 2025 that called for pausing all federal grants and loans while federal agencies assessed their programs’ alignment with recently issued Executive Orders. On January 29, OMB rescinded the memo but the White House has stated that the Executive Order pausing all federal grants and loans remains in effect. It is unclear if OMB or the White House will issue new guidance.

Lifelong relies heavily on federal funding, including Ryan White program funding and Medicaid funding, to deliver critical programs like case management services, housing support, food and groceries, to our 9,000+ clients. We are monitoring the situation closely, working with our federal delegation, and will advocate strongly to protect this critical support.
